Distinguished Participants of the XVII International Coal Preparation Congress

XVII International Coal Preparation Congress (ICPC) will be held between October 1-6, 2013 Istanbul, under the patronage of our Ministry and the leadership of the International Organization Committee (IOC).

The goal of this Congress being held in Turkey for the first time, is to provide exchange of know-how, experience and recent developments in the field of coal preparation and coal technologies.

In compliance with the mission emphasized in the Strategic Paper for the years 2010-2014, our Ministry has undertaken a duty to reduce the dependency on the foreign sources by using energy efficiently, effectively, timely and in a reliable and environmentally friendly manner and to contribute to the prosperity of the country at the highest possible level. Within this scope, the Congress bears an importance in terms of putting forward the entire picture of coal firing technologies that are sensitive to environment and enable to achieve the highest efficiency on coal reserves.

Moreover, an Exhibition, introducing coal preparation technologies and equipment's will also take place, which will provide an opportunity for all the companies and entities operating in mining sector, to see and examine the latest coal technologies. If to assess from this perspective, participation of all the firms from the sector would play an effective role in achieving the goal of the Congress.

Provision of the necessary support to the Congress from the relevant public and private companies is extremely important in terms of promotion of both the sector and Turkey.

Turkey together with the International Organizing Committee (IOC) of the International Coal Preparation Congress (ICPC) will be the host of the 17th ICPC to be organized under the patronage of His Excellency Taner Yıldız, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources. The congress, to be organized for the first time in Turkey since her accession to the IOC membership in 1998, will be held at the Grand Cevahir Hotel and Convention Center on October 1-6, 2013 in Istanbul.

This reputable event will be a unique opportunity for scientists, engineers, investors and managers from around the world to come together and discuss the recent advances and developments in coal preparation and quality improvement technologies.

In the Congress, the Technical Program will run in two parallel plenary sessions and poster sessions. The status reports of coal preparation in the member countries will be presented by the IOC Members. Oral presentations will be simultaneously translated to Chinese and Russian. Coal preparation equipment, material and services will be on display in the Exhibition to be held concurrently with the congress.

On behalf of IOC, I would like to invite all coal preparation scientists, engineers, decision makers and, equipment, material and service suppliers to participate in the 17th ICPC in Istanbul where the continents meet.
